I'm Dyann
The last name's Diercks

(like the country singer)

As a Wyoming native and Colorado transplant, you'll often find me driving somewhere between the Wyo-rado state line.

I earned my Bachelors in Journalism and Masters in Communication from the University of Wyoming.   I'm currently teaching Multimedia Journalism  at the University of Wyoming and Communication courses at Front Range Community College here in Fort Collins. Life is always crazy busy-- but that's just the way I like it!

I picked up my first film camera when I was about 10-years-old and wanted to enter my photos in the 4-H competition at the Country Fair. It wasn't until I took a photojournalism class at UW that I knew I wanted to make photography my living. These days I'm shooting digital, but I still love everything about the film look. I strive to capture photos with natural lighting, candid moments, and authentic emotion.

In my spare time you might find me

Anywhere on a stage with an open mic

Strumming on my acoustic guitar (a hand-made gift from my brother)

Cheering on the sidelines at a Cowboys game  (especially basketball) Go Pokes!

Traveling as much as I can

Searching for castles

Hiking a mountain

And in case you wanted to know

I'm a romantic.

I love to capture love stories through photos, still hoping one of these days I'll be telling my own.

I'm a sucker for comedies and a good musical.

I love making people laugh.

I love all things vintage, retro, and old fashioned.

90% of the music on my radio comes from 1975 and earlier.

You'll be hard pressed to find a time when I'm not smiling.

I like to believe I have a knack for seeing the bright side in everything.

I absolutely love what I do. I'd be honored to be the one to capture the next big moment in your life with you and your loved ones.
